Equity Residential is seeking motivated and personable college students or graduating seniors with an interest in real estate for a summer internship at our West End property in Boston located at 72 Staniford Street. Our structured Property Management Internship program is designed to provide you with industry insight through real-life exposure to property management operations and corporate functions. The Equity Residential Intern will have the opportunity to learn about the property management industry and apartment leasing business from the ground up, with an emphasis on sales and customer service. The Summer Intern will experience many facets of our business through job shadowing and an on-the-job training rotation which includes the sales process, building relationships, creating excitement, the property management leasing cycle and pricing, financial performance, and more. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to participate in one of Equity Residentials award-winning training classes, tour corporate locations, and more. The intern will leave the program with a strong sense of how a successful apartment leasing business operates and hopefully with a desire to join the Equity Residential team after graduation. This is a paid 6-10 week internship with the following qualifications: Currently attending a college or university in a Bachelors or Masters degree program preferably in a Business, Real Estate, or Marketing discipline. Interested in a career in the property management business. Basic computer proficiency. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and communication skills. Prior experience in leasing, sales, or hospitality a plus. Current juniors or above preferred; graduating seniors welcome!

Research and Editorial Intern

Political Research Associates is a social justice think tank dedicated to studying and challenging the U.S. Right. Our key issues areas span LGBTQ rights, reproductive justice, immigrant and racial justice, civil liberties, and economic justice. The Research and Editorial Intern will help in investigating a variety of right-wing movements and institutions, and producing The Public Eye magazine. Research responsibilities include: extensive web, library, or phone research; fact checking; meeting and coordinating with researchers and analysts; library work. The Public Eye responsibilities include: assisting with reporting and research; copy editing; proofing; selecting images; assisting with layout; writing assignments. PRAs research areas span gender, racial, immigrant, and economic justice; civil liberties; education; and other areas under attack by the Right. For summer 2012, we are looking for general interns interested in the right-wing and social justice as well as those with a focus on: LGBTQ Rights; Immigrant Rights; and Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism. Online magazine: PRA launched a new website in 2012, leading to new opportunities for web publishing, multimedia, and blogging. We are also looking for an intern with a journalistic focus interested in contributing to writing and editing as well as research specific to magazine articles, conducting and transcribing interviews, and suggesting new features. Qualifications: experience in journalism or research; excellent written communications, editing and proofreading skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, and graphic related applications; detail-oriented; able to work on short and long-term projects; ability to work independently and as part of a team; interest in progressive activism.
