An exciting opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in the areas of advocacy, health policy, and insurance coverage working in the Government Relations Department of a mission-driven health nonprofit. The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. has an internship opportunity for a health policy or political science student to perform advocacy activities and project management. You can create a flexible internship schedule that complements your school obligations and work directly with two experienced public policy specialists in order to learn the inner workings of advocacy and government relations. You will have the opportunity to: Support the growth of lupus grassroots advocacy. Research the health care needs of people with lupus. Attend conferences, meetings, and health care briefings from various stakeholders. This is an unpaid internship.

The Tucson Hispanic Chamber has over 1000 member businesses and offices in Tucson and Hermosillo. Our mission is to advocate for and provide services that help grow our member's businesses. Our Business Advocacy committee meets every other week (Thursdays from 8:30a - 10:30a). The Public Policy Intern will assist in research, drafting letters and communicating our positions to our membership. In addition, they may attend public meetings representing the Tucson Hispanic Chamber.

ITVS brings to local and national audiences high-quality, content-rich programs created by a diverse body of independent producers. ITVS programs reflect underrepresented and underserved communities. In addition to gaining hands-on work experiences, the interns will attend organizational and community engagement events, view producer rough cuts, and participate in staff activities. The intern will observe how programs are evaluated, managed, and distributed to reach the widest audience. The ideal student intern is passionate about documentaries, publicity, marketing, outreach, social media technology trends and other facets of public television and media. Depending on needs and student interest, student intern will be assigned to a department.

The 1st Annual Leadership Newark Public Policy Summit will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013. The Summit will be a high profile, PR Worthy day long symposium where nationally known and locally active speakers, thinkers, and doers are coming together in an interactive environment to incubate solutions to specific issues. Think "TED" meets "Public Policy" in Newark. As 2013 commemorates Leadership Newarks 15th Anniversary, a Reunion Celebration will be held that evening closing out the days festivities. A typical Leadership Newark event draws people from government, non-profit, entertainment, corporate america, media, education and more! This will be a great networking experience. We seek some rock star interns that want to gain experience in the area of Marketing (emphasis in Grassroots Street Team, Video Production, PR) that will provide some great contacts, an impactful internship experience and letters of reference for job well done.
