Aloha, Pacific Whale Foundation (PWF) -based in Maui, Hawaii- is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting whales and other marine life through research, education, and conservation. Our researchers have studied whales and dolphins throughout the Pacific for over 30 years and currently conduct projects in Hawaii, Australia, and Ecuador. We offer internships in our Marine Mammal Research Program year-round. Commitment: PWF seeks performance-driven and dedicated individuals for long-term internships (applicants willing to commit longer than 3 months will be favored) to assist with our research efforts. Successful applicants are expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week on a fixed schedule. Biotechnology Intern Needed Eldiv is seeking a 25 hour a week Biotechnology intern to work in an office environment researching current IP, understanding the state of art technology, reading scientific articles and summarizing them, etc. The research conducted is in regards to gut bacteria and nutrition and is theoretical research only.

The Aquarium Programs Intern will assist with the development and operations of the Aquariums public visiting hours and programs. Interns will also pursue projects including: creating and conducting presentations for visitors, mentoring volunteers, developing activities and interactive displays, creating new arts and graphics, and other projects. We are looking for responsible, dedicated, and outgoing interns to work with the public programs department. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in marine science, environmental education, program development and management, operating and working at an Aquarium, and working for an environmental non-profit group.

About the Internship Position: Save The Bay seeks a highly motivated individual to support Save The Bay's Policy and Education Programs. Save The Bay is working on ways to incorporate activities within our policy and habitat restoration programs with our education department to enhance experiential learning. To support this effort, we seek a GIS intern to create maps and a geodatabase that tie policy issues and habitat restoration activities in to local schools. This internship is an excellent opportunity for motivated individual to have a hands-on role in ecological restoration efforts, gain an understanding of practical GIS applications and experience using GIS in real world projects, receive experience with database and project management, and environmental problem-solving techniques. Compensation: Save The Bay Internships are unpaid. Save The Bay will work with your school to receive credit for your internship. This position would be 5-10 hours per week with flexible days. All Save The Bay Interns are also required to work at the Save The Bay Swim on Saturday, July 20.
