Intern as a Researcher / Editor / Curator for Nonprofit Career Mentoring Website

ClasswishNew York, NY — Virtual
Intern as a Researcher / Editor / Curator for Nonprofit Career Mentoring Website Work in NYC or Virtually We are recruiting outstanding undergraduate and graduate students as interns for each of Spring and Summer of 2012 (either or both!) to collaborate on a nonprofit initiative that will help millions of teens explore careers and find their calling in life. We are looking for passionate, energetic students with exceptional skills who are ready to take initiative and assume leadership positions in an innovative start-up nonprofit organization. Here is the problem we are tackling: Most high school students (and many college students) do not know what career path they want to pursue, or even what opportunities exist. Further, they do not have a good way to figure it out. Although there are some books and websites about various careers, there is nothing that is free, engaging and informative. Our Approach: ClassWish.org, an exciting new nonprofit, is launching a new initiative, To The Next Generation. We will provide students with useful information, spark their passions, and help them find their callings in life. Our program has three parts, all of which will be available at no cost: 1. High-profile experts in every field, from Acting to Zoology, will be featured in a series of videos, where they will discuss the many career opportunities. 2. Our website will provide a curated presentation of engaging resources for each field, e.g., videos, websites, photographs, role models, articles, books, and even information on college scholarships. 3. Going beyond web resources, we will also help students connect in person with mentors in their community. Who we are: The people behind ClassWish.org include such prominent education and business leaders as Adam Hirsch, former COO, Mashable; Scott Cutler, EVP, New York Stock Exchange; Betsy Morgan, former CEO, Huffington Post; Nancy Pelz-Paget, Director, Education and Society Program, Aspen Institute; Sharon Robinson, CEO, American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. Forbes Magazine liked our approach so much that they donated a full page to help raise awareness. Most importantly, current and former interns will offer a great review of ClassWish.org.
