Find Internships at @60 The Height of Art

The Fashion Teaching Assistant will support the classroom instructors in weeklong fashion themed art camps for students ages 11 14 and high school immersions for students 14 17 during the summer 2013 semester. This is an unpaid opportunity with the possibility of college internship credits or Federal Work Study through participating colleges and universities.  

Through vision and leadership, advocacy and collaboration, the Greater Columbus Arts Council supports arts and advances the culture of the region. A catalyst for excellence and innovation, we fund exemplary artists and arts organizations and provide programs, events and services of public value that educate and engage all audiences in our community. The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), a not-for-profit organization, encourages and supports cultural development in the Greater Columbus area. In this capacity, GCAC provides technical services to artists and arts organizations, acts as the community's voice on arts advocacy issues, and serves as the official agency for the City of Columbus grants for the arts. GCAC administers the Columbus Arts Festival and the Community Arts Partnership Awards.

Volunteers will work at any of the following program sites: Newburgh Performing Arts Academy, Meadow Hill School, Temple Hill School, South Middle School and Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh. Volunteers are students and community members who wish to contribute to the success of the students who are enrolled in any of the Newburgh Performing Arts Academy or Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh Programs. Volunteers will be assigned a variety of tasks including assisting students in their performing and visual arts classes, sports &recreation classes, individual tutoring, homework assistance, marketing and assisting at events. Jobs will be assigned based on the individual's experience and interest. Volunteers create their own schedules, providing them the flexibility to donate anywhere from 1-20 hours per week at any of our program sites.

The Literacy Intern will work at any of the following locations: Newburgh Performing Arts Academy, Meadow Hill School, Temple Hill School, South Middle School and Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh. The literacy intern will work directly with the after-school academic instructors and literacy specialist to implement a reading and language arts curriculum, provide literacy instruction and assess students regularly in the after-school programs. The literacy intern will also assist in developing strategies for struggling literacy learners in grades k-12.

Location: Newburgh Performing Arts Academy The communications/marketing intern will work under the supervision of the internship coordinator who will provide a detailed list of projects to be completed throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will focus on projects for all programs offered through our organization. The intern will be responsible for developing print and online materials, as well as developing and maintaining strong verbal and face-to-face relationships with the community and managing the organization's external communication network.

Location: Newburgh Performing Arts Academy, Meadow Hill School, Temple Hill School, South Middle School and Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh The afterschool programs will provide the academic intern with a rewarding experience where he/she will enhance classroom management and teaching skills. Interns work closely with youth (grades k-12) as mentors, homework tutors and classroom instructors. Interns also learn how to promote and facilitate a quality after-school program and are involved in all of the daily activities of the program.

Location: Newburgh Performing Arts Academy, Meadow Hill School, Temple Hill School, South Middle School and Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh The performing/visual arts intern will work directly with the youth as an assistant instructor in any of our performing/visual arts programs. The intern will assist in the development and implementation of the curriculum for the youth in the after-school arts classes. Interns will focus on leading the students to complete their end of the year goals (recital, exhibit, performance, etc.) Classes include theatre, dance, music and arts classes. Interns will be placed based on experience and interest.

An internship with the ArtsCenter would be tailored to your interests, but could include event planning, development, marketing, youth and family programming, volunteer coordination, and more. No matter what area you interned in, you would be in a vibrant atmosphere, surrounded by people passionate about the arts.

We are currently offering an unpaid internship position at Richard Telles Fine Art, Los Angeles, during the summer months. Highly motivated students are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for students with a strong interest in contemporary art, and most particularly, in our program. Familiarity with it is not required, but a strong interest in the work we exhibit would be preferred.

Amelia Arts Academy is a non-profit community school of the arts. An intern at Amelia Arts Academy will learn non-profit administration, education and class coordination, and client services. The right person for this internship is adaptable, can function in many different postitions and has a genuine love of the arts. You will get hands-on experience running a non-profit and educational facility.
