ABOUT WAVERLY HEIGHTS Waverly Heights, LTD is a private, non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community. Our campus is situated on 63 acres of beautiful land only 10 miles northwest of Philadelphia in Lower Merion Township. It consists of residential apartments and villas, a health care center, commons buildings, and recreational areas. The focal point of the community is a stately Manor House built in 1912 that houses resident and staff facilities. About Therapeutic Recreation at Waverly The Department of Therapeutic Recreation plans and implements a variety of social and recreational activities for residents of the health care center. Programs are designed to enable residents to participate in both past and new leisure interests. The department is staffed by trained professionals with diverse backgrounds in the areas of recreation therapy, music therapy and activity therapy. About the TR Internship Length of program: Senior interns must complete 600 hours over 15 weeks. The senior internship experience is full-time and is 40 hours/week. This includes 5 days/week and the possibility of working some weekends and evenings. Goal of the Senior Internship Program: The goal of the Waverly Heights senior internship is to provide a full-time educational experience based on the NCTRC Job Analysis and the ATRA Standards of Practice, that will reinforce the students classroom learning, and prepare them for the workforce and the NCTRC exam. Students are required to complete the same workload as the TR Coordinators, in addition to assignments required by the university and special projects required by Waverly. Location of Internship: The intern will be assigned to complete assignments and work in all areas of the healthcare center, including skilled nursing, assisted living and memory support. A schedule for this work will be determined during the interns first week at the facility.

SCOPE OF OUR SUCCESS Launched in 2005, ATG has partnered with 14 inner city public schools and community organizations, including schools serving children and young adults with special needs. Bellevue Arts Museum is the Pacific Northwests center for the exploration of art, craft and design through exhibitions, educational programs and partnerships, emphasizing the work of regional artists. The Bellevue Arts Museum ARTSfair is the largest fundraiser for Bellevue Arts Museum. The ARTSfair is scheduled for July 26-28, 2013. Over 300 national leading artists are juried into the ARTSfair by top art professionals. In 2012, over 320,000 people visited this community event to view the art and dance to the music! The Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Artist Lounge. The Artist Lounge is a complimentary service to participating artists. The lounge is an area where artists can relax and enjoy food and beverages. The Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for coordinating food and beverage, hospitality donations and keeping the lounge clean. In addition, the Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and will need to come up with a plan of activities such as massage therapist schedule, artist information board, games, etc. The coordinator must be comfortable directing multiple volunteers throughout the 3-day weekend. DecArtes mission is to create one-of-a kind interiors through the use of original artwork. DecArtes business strategy will be enhanced over the summer, and the company needs forward thinking minds to execute the expansion.

The company is a start up with 1 product, a high end piece of Autographed Baseball Memorabilia. There are only 500 pieces in existence, but they are highly sought after by the target audience, wealthy Jewish people. The position requires extensive internet marketing to locate and contact the target audience via synagogues, country clubs, and other organizations. The position will require the intern to help the organizations set up their own fundraising event using the company's product and resources of current and former major league baseball players. The intern will have contact with the ballplayers to arrange their availability and participation. Once this project is sold out, the company will do a similar item and duplicate its marketing efforts.
