This internship project focuses on the development and implementation of a preparedness assessment tool. The tool will aid the Disaster Response Operations office with assessing the preparedness levels of various agencies within the Catholic Charities network. From types and frequencies of disasters in the specified geographical area, to tested disaster response plans, to agency involvement in CCUSA disaster response training, all will be included in this tool. This project will allow Disaster Response Operations staff to more effectively conduct training in these specific areas, provide more complete technical assistance, and offer agencies the chance to also assess their own disaster readiness. The completion of the project will provide CCUSA with a nationwide assessment of the Catholic Charities network readiness for disasters.
