HR Recruiting Intern

The HR Intern position is intended to give college students practical experience in Human Resources and retail operations and to expose them to the variety of careers available within the retail industry. This is an innovative and demanding program offering highly motivated students the opportunity to refine their skills and gain new experiences in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, the legal environment of HR, customer service, and retail management. The intern will have the opportunity to develop a business relationship with the career development centers at local colleges in their assigned recruiting area, collect applications, screen applications, schedule interviews, conduct interviews, and select elite employees for a variety of integral Speedway positions. Schedule Summary December Break o Orientation to SpeedwayCompany history, organizational structure, business model o Discuss HR Intern role o Store training o Computer Based Training o Recruiting Center training During School Year (intern has customized schedule) o Minimum of 8 hours/week o Develop contacts with career development centers in assigned recruiting area o Collect and screen applications o Schedule and conduct interviews o Select elite candidates for further interviewing o Continue store operations training o Assist recruiting centers o Complete projects with HR Representative Summer/Winter Break (intern has customized schedule) o Up to 40 hours/week o Continue operations training throughout busy summer months o Assist recruiting centers throughout busy summer months o Complete projects with HR Representative Upon completion of the HR Internship and graduation, the intern(s) may be offered a career with Speedway by entering into the Leadership Participant Program or the Co-Manager Trainee program. Position Description: FSC Marketing Communications is a full-service marketing communications firm and a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA). Professional services include account planning, creative services/graphic design (print, web, multimedia, radio and TV), CRM/direct marketing, marketing consulting, market research, media services, sales promotion, tradeshows, packaging, interactive, and public relations. Throughout the year, FSC Marketing Communications conducts a thorough account associate program. Each associate is provided an opportunity to design the program to meet his or her specific needs, such as earning academic credit and/or being paid to work within a specific area of interest. The program is a unique opportunity to receive practical experience in marketing, advertising and public relations. Account Associates are a valuable resource to our office. The program sharpens an a potential full time employee's interest in business, marketing, and creative strategy allowing him or her to apply knowledge gained in the classroom. At FSC, the pace is extremely fast be prepared to meet a new challenge every day! AAs will be supervised by an appropriate staff member at FSC . Evaluations will be conducted throughout the program. These evaluations will consider the associates ability to meet project deadlines, work in cooperation with staff and other associates, produce deliverable results on assigned tasks. Evaluations will be used to consider AA for full time employment.
