Stormfield Theatre is currently seeking interns in the following departments:
Artistic/Administrative Interns report to the Artistic Director and assist with all tasks associated with running a small nonprofit theater. They will gain experience in grant-writing, marketing, social media, casting, research and development, and office management. Applicants can come from a variety of educational backgrounds: Theater, Theater Administration, Communications, Marketing, etc.
Technical Interns work directly with designers and engineers to assist with set, lighting, sound, properties, costumes, etc. They will gain experience and skills in all technical aspects of running a small nonprofit theater. Applicants should have a background in technical theater, and a basic knowledge of hand and power tools, sewing, and painting.
Stage Management Interns work directly with Stage Managers and attend all rehearsals for upcoming productions. They will gain experience in noting blocking, tracking script changes, scheduling and running rehearsals, calling cues for performances, and any other tasks assigned by their Stage Managers. Applicants with some previous stage management experience are preferred.
All Internship Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, comfortable taking initiative on specific projects, efficient researchers, strong writers, and passionate about theater. Applicants should be able to commit at least 20 hours per week.
Internships are unpaid, but academic credit may be earned depending on individual college policy.
