Youth DirectionsGolden, CO
Youth Directions' Mission Statement: Each person has a unique purpose and passion which, when discovered, becomes an unlimited source of positive motivation and the key to success in school, work, life, and ultimately economic self-sufficiency. Youth Directions is an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth uncover these purposes within themselves so that they can go on to gain both personal and professional success. Instead of highlighting the deficits in young people, Youth Directions emphasizes their potentials. We believe that every young person is capable of success if they identify and are motivated by their unique passions and purposes. Internship Description: We dont want our interns to just be making coffee and filing papers were more interested in helping them learn the intricacies of keeping a small non-profit running. This internship combines an introduction to working in the nonprofit world with the opportunity to take this knowledge and apply your own creative streak. Part of the internship will be spent on the day-to-day activities in the office whether it be updating records, helping coordinate meeting schedules, answering phones, or assisting in summer projects. The other piece of the internship is the communications aspect. Interns will communicate with schools and youth in our program, in addition to replying to email queries, compiling newsletters, writing press releases, and assisting with grant writing and research.
