Who We Are
For 40 years, the 21st Century Foundation has been an anchor institution in the African- American community, mobilizing individual and institutional philanthropy for community progress through economic investment, youth development, and capacity building.
For more than 35 years, great ideas have thrived at Tides. Tides provides sophisticated financial and management services - and inspiration - to donors and doers so they can focus on achieving their vision of a just world.
Today The 21st Century Foundation powered by Tides brings together investors, donors, and doers who are committed to addressing the opportunities and challenges facing Black and new majority communities domestically and internationally. We support them in creating resilient and productive families, communities, women, men, and children.
What We Do
We provide:
Fiscal sponsorship and grantmaking
Leadership development, strategy and capacity building
Research and thought leadership
Cross-cultural collaboration
Coalition-building and convening
In 2012, we are committed to three key issues:
1. Identifying opportunities and challenges unique to Afro-Latino Americans and immigrants and facilitating strategies to address those challenges.
2. The mobilization of Employee Resource Groups and workplace giving.
3. The abuse and sex-trafficking of new-majority women and girls.
