Under the guidance of the Public Information Officer (PIO), the Marketing & Communications Intern will manage all content on Georgia Council for the Arts Facebook page including posting photos, replies and posting status updates. In addition, this position will support the PIO in managing the email distribution database, which is the primary communication tool for Georgia Council for the Arts, contribute to media releases and support marketing efforts for key GCA initiatives. The writing and distribution of at least one media release for the interns portfolio will be completed as an end of semester project. A core goal of GCAs new strategic plan is to build increased connectivity among the states arts organizations and improve the viability of the resources we provide to the field via our website and library. The Grant Programs Intern will work closely with the Grant Programs Manager to research relevant arts industry statistics, studies, data and organize the small GCA library. He/she will also develop a database by discipline of arts organizations in the state which will be distributed to similar organizations to facilitate partnerships and communication. The intern will also support the Grants Manager with all aspects of GCAs grant review process.
