This internship is an exciting opportunity to expand your portfolio, gain experience, and use your creativity to help document and showcase dynamic volunteer activities and anti-poverty programs. Met Council Housing has 22 buildings with 2 more in active development. We have full and partial sets of plans and specifications for each building but no inventory to track what exists. This Intern will develop an inventory system and then create a comprehensive record of all the existing plans, specifications, manuals, etc. In addition the Intern will create a file system to store and catalog all existing and future buildings systems and capital projects.

Takoma Park-based nonprofit the Alliance for Green Heat is seeking program fellows to do research and policy work on residential scale renewable heating and to help manage a high-profile wood stove technology competition that will be held on the National Mall in November 2013. Duties will include research and advocacy on local, state and national policy; helping to manage stakeholders in an international design competition including the judges, the teams, federal and state partners and the media; helping to manage event logistics and volunteers. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate who is looking to gain experience in renewable energy, energy policy and technology innovation. Background in renewable energy, climate change, government relations, poverty issues, engineering is desired but not required. Applicants from wood-burning and/or low-income areas are encouraged to apply. This position is full-time. We are looking for candidates who can start in May or June and work for 3 6 months. There is a $500/month stipend.
