Corporation for National & Community ServiceWashington, DC
The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is a federal agency that engages more than five million Americans in service through Senior Corps and AmeriCorps and leads President Obama's national call to service initiative, United We Serve. Indian Tribes and organizations that support Native American communities have been successfully drawing upon national service resources to meet family and community needs for more than 45 years. The Corporation for National and Community Service through its Senior Corps, AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), and Learn and Serve America has a long-standing commitment to working with tribal nations on a government-to-government basis and is committed to enhancing the collaboration process across all programs to address critical issues affecting Native American communities. The programs of CNCS are committed to supporting the culture of service that has existed in Native American communities for generations. Our programs address critical issues of concern to Native American communities, including assisting elders, veterans and military families, cultural preservation, economic development, health and wellness, youth leadership, educational attainment, clean energy, and traditional language and land preservation. CNCS is unable to offer stipends, relocation or housing assistance. However, this internship offers opportunities to gain excellent practical work experience and skill development.
