AGVSPORT offers a bona fide internship experience that will not only prepare you for today's job market, but will transform you into an asset for any company YOU choose to work for. This is not an internship that consists of atypical grunt work, but hands on experience through direction and personal management. Desired Characteristics: Knowledge of Adobe products: Illustrator, Photoshop, and Flash Excellent organization and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Must be organized, very motivated and enthusiastic Basic understanding of email (Outlook) Duties Include: Designing on a project-to-project basis on various types of apparel, products, and graphics Making changes on current products for future season's product line Creating rough drafts, converting it to the computer, and coloring and texturing of designs for the projects at hand Working as a team with other interns to assure office communication and organization Completing long-term projects assigned by hierarchy By the end of this training the trainee will have learned to: Add real world experience to their educational credentials Create and produce images and logos Work on a strict deadline Create graphics to be used for advertisements, i.e. events, products, etc. Participate as part of a team, on shared assignments and projects Compile a portfolio of completed assignments at the end of the internship Fuller understanding of the industry and customer knowledge Building relationships through various networking Utilize teamwork skills Length Requirement: The position is open for as long as the student would like, but with a minimum length of 12 weeks, 21 to 35 hours/week. Specifications: This position is open to students enrolled at any college or university or a graduate looking for real world experience. The students' interests must lie in graphic arts. 2013 Save Our Youth Internship Position Summer Academy Intern SOY is looking for enthusiastic and motivated interns with a sincere interest to work with at risk youth for their educational development and remediation. Applicants should have upstanding moral character, basic understanding of computers and working online and have adequate personal transportation. An intern needs to be a person who wants to make a difference in the lives of young men and women by helping them achieve academic success where struggle and failure has been the norm. Agency Mission: Save Our Youth (SOY) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth through mentor relationships, that provide the skills for success in educational, emotional, and spiritual development. SOY provides a Summer Academy to remediate students in language arts and math. SOY Summer Academies use online educational software. Academies run from 8am-2pm, each student spends 3-4 hours on the academic recovery skills and spends part of the day in life skills enrichment to enhance their educational experience. Interns are part of a larger group of 20+ interns who oversee 8-10 academic sites. Energy and motivation of the staff and the intern team are essential to the success of the Summer Academies. Job Description: Summer interns are key to the success of each academy. Their emotional and spiritual engagement and involvement set the tone for how much students will accomplish. Interns report to the Academy Site Manager in their administration of the academy in the following areas: Oversight of the online software Track students progress and attendance Assist students in math and language arts Oversight of all program logistics Provide classroom management Responsible for the spiritual and emotional development of the students Training in Why Try curriculum (a motivational positive change curriculum)
