Description

Set your portfolio apart by developing social media content that will be used in a wide range of settings (from the web to large conferences and events) by national nonprofits and high profile clients.

purePR is a small, dynamic strategy group that works with clients throughout the country and in China. We are seeking a social media intern who has a high creative capacity to script unique, targeted content and creative multimedia elements that will provide a verbal and visual support to our clients' stories.

Duration:

Candidates must be available for in-office work 10 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. (1) week per quarter will be provided for vacation.

Responsibilities

-Work with purePR staff to write, edit, and schedule editorial content for use by clients' across the social media spectrum
-Support real time social media content development at local client events
-Produce mutlimedia content for use on social channels (photos, quick videos, etc.)
- Act as a content curator, research and filter appropriate, useful content that can be shared/adapted for use in client social media content plans
- Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networking sites as directed for client engagement
- Engage in measurable crowd building activities on social networking sites on behalf of clients
- Assist with other social media/PR related tasks as needed

Requirements

Education & Applicant Requirements:

Qualified candidates will be PR, communications, advertising, media communications (or related field) majors entering at least their second year in an undergraduate program, or a graduate student in a similar field.

Candidates must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Writing samples, including social media writing samples, and an interview will be required.

Candidates need to showcase quality participation on leading social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.)

Applicants must provide 2 written recommendations that focus on their skills and their personal strengths as related to the position description.
Candidates will be asked to submit a written piece that explores their personal connection and commitment to purePR’s mission and value core.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Outstanding interpersonal, communications, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong presentation and writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly.

A positive team contributor.

Able to work in a Macintosh computer environment.

Demonstrate experience with Web-based media including social networking tools, blogs, e-mail, forums etc.

Preferable: Understanding of layout design, and working knowledge of professional publishing and presentation software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and the Apple Office Suite.
