Artsbridge, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that uses art and dialogue to develop constructive partnerships between Israeli, Palestinian and American teens. Our goal is to prepare these youth to become leaders and change makers in their communities.

Job Description
Artsbridge is currently looking for motivated and enthusiastic interns that will join our efforts in helping to make a difference in the lives of Israeli, Palestinian, and American youth. As a summer intern, individuals will have the opportunity to engage and live with 20 Israeli and Palestinian teens and 10 American teens as part of our three-week summer program. The Israeli and Palestinian participants fly to the U.S. and come from diverse religious, political, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Interns must therefore be open-minded, patient, and passionate about creating cultural understanding between diverse groups.

Responsibilities

Intern will be responsible for:
• Preparing for arrival of students and the beginning of the summer program
• Living on-site for the three-week program, plus one week of staff training/orientation
• Daily administrative tasks, such as assisting to coordinate fieldtrips and other events
• Supporting staff members in day-to-day program activities
• Maintaining social media (writing daily blogs, Facebook, Twitter …etc.)
• Organizing program participants during day-to-day programming
• Supporting staff in planning and executing end of summer gala

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Strong organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube…etc.)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong desire to work with youth (previous experience working with teenagers is a plus)
• Independently motivated
• The desire to learn about the nonprofit sector is a plus
• An interest in and some basic knowledge of the Israeli/Palestinian political landscape is a plus
• A commitment to social justice issues is a plus

Candidate must be willing to commit to living and working for three weeks on-site in Williamstown, MA with 30 Israeli, Palestinian, and American teenagers. Candidates should understand that intern responsibilities are expansive and not always clearly defined as above.
