About Light The Night® and LLSLight The Night® is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's signature fundraising Walk event that pays tribute to lives touched by blood cancers. Each fall, teams of friends, families, and coworkers gather in cities across North America. They walk in twilight holding illuminated balloons- white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of a loved one lost to blood cancer. The evening includes music, food, and family-friendly activities.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest private organization. LLS’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Requirements
Primary Duties Will Include:• Provide one-on-one support to Light The Night® Campaign Manager
• Assist in the recruitment and management of Walk participants
• Assist in the development and management of other special events
• Secure in-kind donations for various special events
• Assist with seasonal mailings, participant correspondence, & meeting preparation
• Maintain participant and event databases
• Assist with various administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
• Superior writing and communication skills
• Must be well organized, flexible and poised under pressure
• Ability to multi-task
• Customer-service background a plus
• Interest in nonprofit management and event planning a plus
Responsibilities may vary depending upon the goals, skills, and interests of each intern, as well as the stages of planning for seasonal events. In the event that there are current internship openings within other LLS fundraising campaigns, we will make you aware of them as well.
Available Opportunities in our Conshohocken and Allentown offices:
Winter Internship: December- March (dates negotiable)
Hours: Must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
Spring Internship: March-June (dates negotiable)
Hours: Must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
