Description: This valuable, non-paid internship will prepare you for a career in any industry by providing a real world experience to improve your skills and confidence. Our unique internship offers an intense comprehensive, hands-on exposure to multiple arenas emphasizing administrative, strategic marketing, human resources, sales and, management fields. This internship will provide an overall experience that will enhance your knowledge of different aspects of the business industry. Additionally, Aflac’s role as the #1 employee benefits provider in the world will expose the selected students to the myriad of challenges that face corporation, large and small, as they address strategies of attracting and retaining quality employees and clients.

Responsibilities

Not limited to the following:

* Responsible for generating, qualifying and aiding in sourcing recruits through our Insuraseek program
* Learning and understanding our company, our mission, and our products
* Manage activities that lead to account acquisition and enrollment
* Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and trends through comprehensive training, research and sharing of information within the Aflac Field Force
* Learns and develops strategies, programs and plans for existing and potential business
* Fosters a unified, integrated team environment among all associates
* Ensure accurate reporting, timely response intervals and strategic development of Aflac objectives
* Answer basic policy holder questions, data entry and filing
* Correspond with Aflac World Wide Head Quarters (WWHQ)
* Monitor inventory and office supplies: keep organized and stocked
* Builds relationships with businesses, learns their needs, and develops a win/win plan to meet those needs

Requirements

* Students currently enrolled in an academic institution, working towards a associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree relative to business with a minimum GPA of 2.50 or higher
* School credits (3 to 6 units) are encouraged
* Must work a minimum of 15 hours/week
* Minimum commitment of 1 quarter (12-13 weeks)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment
* Have an interest in learning how business at Aflac functions
* Ability to take initiative and work independently and as a team
* Have required computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet savvy)
