Description

Crystal B. Designs, a Chicago fashion company, is looking for 2 Fashion Design interns. You will be working directly with the designer/owner. These internships are unpaid; if eligible, class credit may be received.

Timing: The position will be 15-30 hrs/week, preferably two days per week.

Responsibilities

Cutting Fabric and Patterns
Helping with the brainstorming of a collection
Pattern Draping and Drafting
Pattern Manipulation
Cleaning Workspace
Organizing (patterns, garments, fabrics, tool & etc.)
Sketching
Research
Errands
Labeling
Sewing
Pattern Marking
Need to be able to keep track of how much fabric was used per garment.

Requirements

Candidates must be able to pattern draft, pattern drape, cut patterns, sew and cut fabrics. This candidate should be at least a junior level fashion design student. The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills and should be able to listen and take direction accordingly. This candidate will be directed and work hand in hand with the Owner/Designer. Candidates need to be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email. This intern should also be knowledgeable with creating Specification Packets (if not, willing to teach the right person).
