The West Harlem Art Fund, Inc. showcases art and culture in open, public spaces to add aesthetic interest to our part of the city; promote historical and cultural heritage; and support community involvement in local development. Our latest venture is art tours in real artist neighborhoods around the City.
Responsibilities
Help the West Harlem Art Fund with new public art installations. Knit bombing is more popular in the South, New England and Canada where the traditions are very strong. Often times, fiber artists do not know what to do with their talent. I need interns to coordinate pop up installations that are fun and whimiscal. It also engages participates to better appreciate their art form and willing to not only share but learn other mediums. We have started art tours and we don't want art to feel so distant but very real and up close.Requirements
