If you have an aptitude for mathematics, can interpret what the accounts say, and love number-crunching, then business finance is the career for you. Essentially a funds-management specialization, business finance is an area of finance in which financial decisions are made for business enterprises based on an evaluation of equity, transactions, accounts, and stock holdings. The professionaims to maximize corporate value and equities while keeping financial risks low. It's advantageous to get into a finance internship to gain insight into and practical understanding of business dealings on various scales, from small businesses to large corporations. This type of internship can lead to networking within the industry, entrepreneurship, or a career in financial services or finacial fraud investigation.

Summer Internship – Business/Finance Major 2013

We are a boutique Investment Bank located on the water in Greenwich, CT. We have a small team that works very hard, and wears many hats to help our business grow. Our company focuses on lease and debt placement, including sale/leaseback, tax leases, aircraft sourcing, and senior, PDP and mezzanine debt. We are seeking assistance with project work and administrative support. The right candidate will support the members of our team who need assistance on a variety of projects for our clients. In addition, this person will assist the Owner, Team and Office Manager with various duties to help support and run the office smoothly. Candidates have the opportunity to develop more financial industry knowledge, contacts, and see how a small boutique investment bank is run. For the right candidate, the opportunity may present itself for students to work with us on a full-time basis after graduation. We currently have opportunities for highly-motivated and responsible students to work on a full time basis (35-45 hours per week). We seek students with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills who can communicate effectively and take initiative when necessary. Students should also have the ability to multi-task and assume responsibility in a team-oriented environment. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) are required and knowledge of adobe and web design is a plus.
